Description

Surf Life Savers (Lifeguards) patrol our beautiful strand beach constantly, one reason is for drowning victims of course but we also have other little nasties in our tropical waters. Sharks, the odd rouge crocodile that appears every few months or so and marine stingers, nasty lil guys that can and will kill you if stung. The inhabit our waters from around October-May when the water is warm/hot for them. Vinegar bottles are found at every part of the strand for swimmers incase they happen to get stung, it's the only way to remove the tenticles and take the sting away. Net enclosures keep the swimmers safe so swimming between the flags, means swim in the enclosures for safety not the open sea.

Marvellous place and pic. Our beach has little danger, one sort of stinging fish you have to tread on the be stung, but of course the water is NOT WARM! 10 degrees C at present, 22 maximum by September!

Beautiful beach area Sue, and it's got to be nice to know someone is watching out for you and the kids whilst your in the water. Don't you have the box jellyfish of your coastline? I believe thats deadly if they sting you. Excellent capture at 6:45, did you go for a jog before work? Bravo!!!!!
