Hello! My name is Jodie. I live in Minnesota where the temps can fluxuate by 20 degrees in one day. Most of my photos have been taken very close to my home, a 10 acre hobby farm., where I raise Alpacas and chickens. I am a band director, a musician/singer and a photographer/adviser on the yearbook committee. My camera of choice is a Nikon. I have a D90 and a D70. I also have a SB800 flash and favorite lens is Nikon 18-200mm AF-S, with VR. Revisiting the visual arts is something I should have done years ago. If I see something remarkable, I just try to capture it. Nobody else will ever see it quite that way again so I hope you try that, too. This is just like expensive therapy for us. Thank you for visiting and may you have a peaceful day!

wow, full size this has real theatrical intensity! It's all so intense, and loomed over by deep wonderful shadows. You've really captured 'background' in this series, which fit the story of light coming out of darkness...but I also notice a clean-as-sun light in these shots (!), a bold sun-bleached light along with a deep focus. Most everyone is vivid in this shot. But one of my favorites is the audience members (bottom right), because they sit there all black & shadow & emphasize the actors by 'contrast': The players in front of them seem on fire...It's a lovely shot, Jodie; you really did dialogue with theater in this series, its light, its shadows, its cloistered gatherings, and the wonderful sense that a world unfolds in these magical little spaces, and it's sacred. And knowing that you love these people & worked hard with them (during some full times) makes it even more special. Many thanks for a wonderful series, I appreciate all you did; and it shines...

Fantastic how you managed the lighting gradient from right to left not washing out any detail and not losing any detail in the dark. Strong symbolic messages too.

Very impressive theater scene as in your other post. For the miracles, they can happen I think, but this is not so common except for the miracle of love, when it lasts through years and even through generations. I do beleive in that too, but this is dependant of our faith and confidence and it is a daily work to achieve that. Have a nice weekend Jodie!
