Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Oh my, what a great shot to look back on, these ARE the ones to keep. They look like they enjoyed getting mudded up like that. I remember coming home once as a kid looking like this and my mother hit the roof! She went ballistic because of the laundry.

Hosed 'em off...I'm surprised you didn't call in the fire department to wash 'em down. And the mud hole they created, there...jeez, you have a lot of patience...lol But, kids will be kids!! Thanks for sharing.

"Mud, mud, glorious mud nothing quite like it for cooling the blood" ... from a song by an old-time UK comedy duo called Flanders and Swann The mud baths in Turkey were great fun ... especially the 'hosing-down' afterwards - you'd be surprised by what was revealed! Mike

This to me is the best type of family snaps, a nice posed one for the albumn may be nice but these type are GREAT. I love it when the kids get dirty, it reminds me of when I was a kid and got dirty myself. I remember those as happy times, everybody having the time of their lives. I remember going home one time after falling in the local lodge, and my mother screaming at me, 'If you come home drowned dead, I'll half bloody kill you'. She went crazy when I started laughing at what she said, and it wasn't till my sister explained it to her she realised what she said would make anybody laugh. Fantastic capture and what a story, those are worth keeping. So glad you scanned it in and posted it Marilyn. You see what you've done, and it won't be only me that you have stirred memories for. Bravo!!!!! Instant fav.

Goodness! A motley crew, indeed! LOL, I am amused to see a girl was involved in this sloppy backyard encounter and was displaying a good sense of humor out of it all. A great shot salvaged from the good old days of yesteryear, Marilyn.

It is so nice that they were able to get excess energy released in a good way.

Being young is great. You don't worry about things like tearing up the grass or keeping out of the mud. All you can think of is having fun and being with friends. marvelous shot.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW! What a capture. I'm glad you brought it out and posted it. I love the full-on, up front emotion in this...that youthful glee that tends to fade as years go by...capturing it is such a wonderful thing and it's a great reminder that we can hold on to it and feel snippets of it in our "older" or "more adult" lives.

Looks like they had fun! I remember doing things like this
