Description

This is another old foto, dug up out of my files. My son and I were at the park in town so he could fly his kite. I shot this right into the sun, but the interesting thing is that it ended up looking like some kind of super nova or something. Even the scratches on the old print add to that effect, or at least that's how I see it!!

Great capture. The kite really looks like it is flying on the outer limits of our atmosphere.

Until I read your description, I thought you had done a space render. It did make for an interesting shot and an even more interesting..."you tell me what you see in the photo."

Oooh, this is fantastic! It is so incredibly rich in color and detail and yes, it does look a bit like an upper atmosphere shot, or an interstellar rendering! Superb work, and it's good to see an oldie! :-) This is most definitely one of my favorites.

Well, a supernova to some, but to me an incoming mile-wide asteroid, moments before it hits and obliterates two-thirds of the planet...our Earth. Is this comparable to what the dinosaurs saw before they were wiped out 65 million years ago? In any event, terrific contrast and dynamics in this capture, Marilyn.

Way cool! It does look like something's just blown up. I love the dark sky - it enhances the feeling that this is something from space.
