again, I'm going back a bit to pick up images I've missed from the past, which is no reflection on your current work whatsoever, as I've loved it too (as I've said many times in my comments). Yes, I've heard that tulips are an amazingly strong flower, and what you've captured here is not just their strength, but their mystical undulating power. The whole piece undulates with the lines & furrows & energies of the flowers. It almost appears painted on stone in spots, you have such powerful textures. Many sections remind me of some of the impressionists in closeup (Renoir comes to mind, because when one looks closely at his treatment of a gown, a hat, a fabric, one sees a whole ocean of morphing colors and swirling energies). But these shapes & palettes are all yours, I'd recognize the style anywhere, and not only do you get the rich color variations in the flowers themselves, but in their leaves at bottom (opulent morphing hues!) and in the almost melting hues around those leaves & stems. On top it's as if the universe itself is undulating with resonant energies from the flowers, or maybe those are flowers in the distance---it really doesn't matter either way, because your vision has turned them into an undulating living atmosphere. One can see, from works like these, where your backgrounds come from in your current animal series, and how your passions still make themselves known throughout your changes in subject material. It was this kind of image that I first saw in your gallery, and it has the same impact on me today that it did then. Sensuous, mystical, opulent and very alive. A very beautiful work. And the hues are stunning.
