Hello! My name is Jodie. I live in Minnesota where the temps can fluxuate by 20 degrees in one day. Most of my photos have been taken very close to my home, a 10 acre hobby farm., where I raise Alpacas and chickens. I am a band director, a musician/singer and a photographer/adviser on the yearbook committee. My camera of choice is a Nikon. I have a D90 and a D70. I also have a SB800 flash and favorite lens is Nikon 18-200mm AF-S, with VR. Revisiting the visual arts is something I should have done years ago. If I see something remarkable, I just try to capture it. Nobody else will ever see it quite that way again so I hope you try that, too. This is just like expensive therapy for us.  Thank you for visiting and may you have a peaceful day!Â

I beg your pardon! Goose Me? Easy to say when you're safely sitting in front of a computer, miles away from any physical contact with RR viewers. Anyway, splendid POV, clarity and water effects in this snap of the goose, serenely paddling along, unaware that's its image will be temporarily etched on the memory card of a digital camera, and then transferred to the hard drive of a PC for worldwide publication.

I've never been to Minnesota, but the landscape and climate looks very close to it's neighbor. well done. Good luck as well...

Nicely done all the way around, from title to photo. Here's wishing you success with the concert. Is is magical how much progress young musicians can make in a year. It can be hard to imagine that those horrid sounds of the first day of class could ever be refined to what will happen in the Spring concert. Though the director may have doubts as the time of the concert approaches :o) Break a leg!

How funny, but today I received an old newspaper clipping from 1965 of the elementary school band on stage and performing for the PTA meeting that evening. I was in that band - 3rd clarinet. I thought I played my instrument like an angel plays a harp and couldn't understand why the rest of the band was so bad! LOL Guess we know that was a crock but I have talked to several people in that 1965 school band and they all admit they thought the same thing. Truth is...we were all bad. But by 1969 we were hot, hot, hot! I like your goose shot. The dried grasses are so beautiful and help establish a natural framing for the waterway and the bird.

Your capture is full of energy, not just in the speeding bird but there is enough evidence of growth just waiting to explode despite the straw colors abounding. LOL @ PJ. Good luck with the concert! I know things will be better than last year.

well after reading all the comments, I can't wait to see this concert! (and busi2ness said "I know things will be better than last year"---holy cow, what happened last year!) I've been there w/ MrsLubner, and I've done the spring concerts and remember how much we had wrapped up in them, and I truly hope it's a blast! As for the picture, it's a beautiful simple shot of a creature swimming away in the tried & true dried grasses of early spring---but there's green there too! Life's popping up! All great things, Jodie! Maybe the goose is off to buy tickets! Much joy to everyone!
