I took flowers to a friend for her birthday. Now is that a win/win for a photographer, or what?? :) Rosemary got the flowers, and I took pictures, and we both smiled.

A SHAMELESS REMINDER ABOUT MY BIRTHDAY!
It's this Sunday, May 11th.
Now I know that you're not ALL just chomping at the bit to post something for my birthday, but for those of you who want to do that, I'm all over it! I LOVE getting attention on my birthday, and this year I'll be 50, which is pretty exciting!
So I have to tell you ... for years and years I had to share my birthday with Mother's Day, and I really hated that. I'm a little tweaked that my 50th is ON Mother's Day, but nobody asked me, so that's what we get. :) So if you DO want to post something for my birthday, and you were planning on posting a Mother's Day dedication, I would just LOVE it if you posted something for me on a different day, rather than do a combo. Just a request ... of course you can do anything you like! :) I started celebrating this year in April and won't finish until the middle of June when Marilyn is here, so any ol' day will be just fine with me!
NO PRESSURE!!! If you weren't going to do a birthday thing for me, please don't do one! This is just a reminder for those who like to do that sort of thing. I always figure if I don't ask for what I want, my chances of getting it go WAY down. I will be absolutely thrilled with ANYTHING I get!

LOL!!!! A wave with a rubarb leaf LOL (my own variation) IL really try to remember, my friend. :))) Hmm..... Is that tulip coughing...were you smoking that day? ;-) Anyway it has a lovely color.. and it is a gorgeous shot.

Gorgeous colors in this one, Tara. Not ten minutes ago I was looking at my tulips, and believe me, they don't look this good. They're looking quite ragged. But that's ok, the lilac is blooming, and the Iris soon will be. BTW, this is perfect against the black background.

Well, your not kidding about the "reminder." LOL! I didn't even know this weekend was mother's day. Not like its a big deal around my house. This tulip looks like its got its mouth open and about to speak... Is it saying "You look too young to be turning 50?"

Well it has to be said "Happy un Birthday Tara", just in case I forget on Sunday. I have to agree with Marilyn you are too shy by far and what does that Frankie96 mean I turned 60 last month and I still don't feel any different, there is a little less sand in the timer though Lol. Excellent capture of this talking tulip, well PJ did say it had its mouth open, I don't think it was paying compliments though, it's just pulling it's tongue out. Lol' Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

Terrific clarity, bright colors and textures in this lovely macro, Tara, but, to be perfectly candid, that wide vertical shadow cast by the petal towards the right is somewhat distracting, and creates a chasm in the tulip. And, in reflecting on your subtle birthday reminder, does that mean that Mother's Day always falls on the 11th of May? Since it's always on a Sunday, wouldn't the date vary a bit from year to year? I may be wrong, but I can't believe your birthdate and Mom's Day coincide each year.
