Description

I'll tell you what: One or two trips to the beach with a camera yields more photographs than you can imagine! Here's another one from the beginning of April. What amazes me is that this third-of-a-brick somehow got to this beach from somewhere else! Probably washed up with a heavy surf one day, but ... how was it suspended in the water before it crashed here on a wave? And what happened to the other two-thirds of this brick? What was it used for before it came to Edmonds, Washington? Part of a building? Just a broken brick used as ballast? Is it here to stay, or is it just on some sort of brick vacation, out to see the world? These are the things I think about when nobody is looking. My mind might not be the most interesting place in the world, but it's certainly busy! :)

Well, I see you have some very punny friends, Tara! This shot is great, intriguing and I think that the missing bit is called a Tim-Bit! Many happy returns, KIDDO!

That looks like an antique brick! How many miles has it traveled? That's my question. :o) I find your mind works a lot like mine does. Does this mean I'm in trouble? lol! Okay, I am sure Mother Nature is very strong, and she moves large boulders around, mountains, and occasionally a third of a brick.

There may be beauty in all things, as some say, but this whatever-it-is falls short in that stretch of the imagination. Rather than a brick, it resembles some kind of square grommet. Or perhaps one of those cushions people use to separate their posteriors from a hard bench or chair. In fact, I use something like that while I'm driving. That said, a great capture of a yucky mess, Tara. And, happy birthday eve, my friend!

Excellent capture Tara! I think about those kinds of things too (when no one is looking, of course), always curious about everything! As they say "use it or loose it" (our brains that is)! And a great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Hey ... it's no mystery! Have you guys never heard of Atlantis ... all bricks there have holes in them to let the little fishes through. Thanks, Tara, for tantalizing our imaginations. Mike

Brick vacation?!? There are, indeed, some strange thoughts going on in that pretty little head of yours, my dear. ;o) Two of the interesting things about this image are the way the ocean has deposited stuff all over the face of the brick and how it rounded the corners. Well spotted and captured. And again ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
