Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

The richly decorated stratifications of masonry make for an overall stunning effect - well worth a venture to the middle of the street. Bravo, intrepid photographer! Mike

Oh wow, rich detail is an understatement in this awesome capture, Marilyn! Fantastic columns and their swirly capitals, impeccable cornices, orangy/yellow colors, etc.! And, photographers have a Constitutional right to stand in the street taking pictures!

Oooh, BRILLIANT! I love the colors here, they completely POP! This is an amazing piece of work! It's good to see architecture like this and to know that it's in the USA. It kinda makes me think that Prague could be given a run for its money...eventually! Great, great shot!

Great capture, love the colors BUT you be careful of those nasty drivers k? lol
auntietk
What on earth is wrong with those drivers? Everyone knows that wherever a photographer needs to be to get the shot is a perfectly appropriate location, and we have the right-of-way above everything else! Everyone else is just trying to GO somewhere. Slow down and take a picture! Sheesh! And this is a great one! The detail is amazing, and even if you had to play in traffic to get it, this was worth the trouble!!
