Description
I work on this interesting mathematical object; a Kuen PseudoSpherical Surface, it's not ready yet for publication but it could be interesting to share some of my experimentations with you.
The object was generated by a Mac software call 3D-XploreMath and the text with Carrara pro 6.
Because the mathematical object is in reality a surface (2D) it's sometime interesting to give it some thickness especially when you want to use a glass texture, one trick is to bring the object in a 3D editor like Wing 3D, select all the faces, pull them a little bit and smooth the object. with this specimen I make a mistake instead of pulling the surfaces I pulled the vertices and this give this interesting texture.
On the top image I used sky and sun lighting, on the bottom one I experiment with lighting, I used a black sky with no sun, a white parallel light as key light (front) and 2 colored spot, a BlueViolet and a reddish beige, one on each side of the object.
