I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

As you said, just getting a foto like this is a feat in itself, it's fantastic!! As far as his lunch is concerned, I think he's already cut it up into tiny little pieces and we'll never know what was on his menu!!

Sweetheart... I love this capture. The details of the eagle are set off by the texture of the large branch to make this "WOW"! Hopefully we will get a similar opportunity again, only then we will be able to debate the prey at the scene. smile 143 and T minus 116. Hugs & kisses, Bruce xox

It looks a bit furry for a fish but I wouldn't want to get much closer to check. Excellent capture Carin, you are very lucky to get this close. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

As intrepid in your photography as ever - I don't find the shot overly busy - indeed I think the multiplicity of elements and textures puts this magnificent bird into a context. Another lovely slice of your fascinating wild life for which I thank you so much. Bravo, dear Carin. Hugs, Mike xx

Super capture Carin! Very different than the eagles here but beautiful in its own right. A bit bulkier I think and now you have me dying of curiosity what it sounds like, lol! I like that its somewhat camouflaged by the leaves:-)

Cool shot of the African Fish Eagle -- a species of raptor I never heard of before -- enjoying his brunch amidst the busy foliage. You must have caught this one many years ago, like in the mid 1980s, if this is a scan of a film negative.

Wow, what a massive bird. Where I live there are a number of Ospreys, also known as fish hawks. They are large but not this big. Great shot.

This is an impressive capture of an impressive bird. Great capture, with a nice sense of intimacy, if that makes sense. I don't find this image busy at all, either. The branches add something to this. For me, the branches and the "business" adds quite a lot of environmental atmosphere and puts the eagle in it's native context. Brilliantly seen and wonderfully presented.

ohhh excellent !

Good action capture very rare to see, because they never seem to perch where a camera can reach them. Well spotted and captured!
