Description

We were driving in Washington State last weekend and these flowers were blooming by the side of the road. We pulled over and I jumped out and took this shot because I loved their bright orange color.

Are you sure you weren't in my garden? We have about eight of these at the momment flowering in tubs in the back yard. Sorry that should read HAD not have, the weather over the last few days has seen torrentioal rain that has flattened most of the blooms that we had, the roses are decimated and most of the poppies have lost petals. I can see why you pulled up to get this shot, the colour is so warm, it's like pure sunshine. They would make a very nice emblem for Orange County. Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!

Those look like California Poppies .... illegal to pick here in California, but what are they doing in Washingon state? :o) Nevermind... Excellent capture!!! I love this shade of orange.
