Description

Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image. Yesterday I showed a young male Anole lizard that was demonstrating his mating display. I mentioned that I doubted if he would have much success because he was young. Today's image shows a full grown male Anole and a female he has found attractive and willing. This guy was obviously impressive enough for this female, lol. This is something I have seen before, but not often and never before when I had my camera. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. The contrasts in scale color and the couple of out-of-focus twigs in the foreground make this a very dynamic shot (I love how it looks like he's peering out from behind the twigs at you). It's always a little weird taking pictures of animal sex, isn't it? Even though they don't mind and it makes for good art it feels just slightly awkward and, well, personal. Glad you got a good one, and they look so happy.

The intense green of the male is quite sharp and visually exciting...in short, the image is fantastic, especially the wonderful details captured. I love the sense of color and I have to say that the expression on the guy's face is priceless.
