Description

I'm working on a set of atmospheres right now that will take a while to get ready as it seems. Sometimes ambition is a good thing, while other times you should stuff it in a corner of a dark closet somewhere ;) Anyway...these atmospheres will be inspired by a group of artists who were active in a place in Denmark called Skagen a long time ago. Their art, however, is still very much alive and the light in these paintings is superb. I might add that the reason for this astonishing light in Skagen has to do with the waters outside it. At the tip of this sandy, shifting headland, Skagerrak and Kattegat is meeting up. Which means that there are spots at this place where you can actually see how waves are rolling in from two different sides at ones. It's quite a sight :D The reflections in the water and the waves from different directions sometimes fool the eye and creates a light that looks as if it's coming from all over the place. Um...anyway... I was down there a lot when I was younger together with dad and the rest of the family since dad was an artist and was like so many other of his kind seeking the "perfect" light. And that it's almost impossible to recreate in Vue :p The sky you see above took most of my time today to do. However....since I'm stubborn and bored, why not try? ;) This is a silly attempt, but a start. And the "washline" in this render looks the same way in my bathtub...hehe Oh well...it's the light I'm after anyway. I hope it will make up for something. And thank yous for you comments on my tribute the other day :D As always it's very appreciated :) Hope your weekend is a sunny and warm one :D

The atmosphere looks great but what I liked more here, please dont kill me, was the sand. The sand looks just like... sand. It's just perfect. The atmosphere colors are very original, something special, not something we see every day and I guess that's what you were after. Well done.

The light is great for me because the sun is in view and the rest of the scene is well lit. Usually for decent sunrise/sets the rest of the scene is dark and needs extra lighting. U did good :)

Yes the light is great, the sand is superb but for me I light the whimsical feel generated by the interaction of the character with the landscape elements. Nice work

Ok....sand lovers...hehe...thank you :D I decided to skip the sand mats from Vue and dig around to see if I could find something online that would work better. So if anyone is interested in this sand texture, you can get it at Turbosquid for free. It's a 5mb image and can be found here: http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/Index.cfm/ID/316315 Have a nice day at the beach ;)
