Description

The Old Post Office in Tintagel, Cornwall, is a 14th century stone manor house that was a Post Office for 50 years, has been restored and is now in the National Trust. So many buildings in this area utilize the native slate for their roofs and fences, with many of the roofs undulating like this from the many years of bearing the weight of the slate stone. On large buildings and small, it adds such charm, and many of the fences use this lovely herringbone pattern with plenty of room in the nooks and crannies for mosses and plants to grow, and even a hidden bird nest or two. It was like walking onto a Harry Potter movie set and I felt like I was in another place and time, and was totally enthralled with the area. Thanks very kindly for your views and comments.

Wow, this is just wonderful, Maria. I find it amazing that there are buildings that are that old and still standing, even with restoration.
