Description
This small (2cm-3/4in) across, but striking beauty pops up randomly at one of my local nature reserves. So easy to overlook or even stand on, if you don't watch your feet. I am sure you will agree a gem amongst our wild flowers, when viewed up close.

I expect you saw on the news, Kevin, that a non-English speaking contractor mowed right across a small colony of these on a verge somewhere in England as he couldn't understand the sign! I didn't take in where. Any way they'll be OK next year providing it isn't an annual occurrence! An absolutlely superb shot!
