Glorious detailed macro. Super capture. Mick, the rosella is a fruit, don't know its origin, however they are made into a gorgious red jam in our part of the country. I will, in time try to capture a pic of a bloosom. Tkanks for the query. Cheers Phill.

Gosh, Mick! I got really excited when I saw this excellent pic! I received Michael Chinery's field guide to the Moths of GB and Ireland for my birthday last year, because of my increasing interest in all things with 6 or more legs. Evidentally there are 50 or Pug moths, who generally rest with their wings outstretched like yours. I don't expect you share my obsession with finding out names, but I think this is the Common Pug, Eupithecia vulgata, whose feeding plants are a wide variety of trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants. So now you know, even if you didn't want to! SUCH a clear photo!
