Description

Today we hiked Dog Mountain, on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge. The trail climbs 2800 ft in about 3 miles (850 m in 4.8 km). Near the top there are meadows that are bursting with flowers this time of year. Most of what you see here is Arrowleaf Balsamroot, with flowers bigger than the palm of your hand. Our destination was up by the trees in upper right. There were great views of the Gorge and the river, but I think I'm getting too old for climbs like this I'm exhausted, and headed for bed. I'll catch up on comments tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by and any comments.

You said you were tired after that climb. Heck, I'd never have made it to the top. That looks steep. Really pretty trail though.
