Description

** Best Viewed Full Size ** My apologies for the size of this one, but I hope it will be worth scrolling a bit. This is the view from the top of Dog Mountain. The left side is looking south toward Mt. Defiance, one of last summer's hikes, and the right is looking slightly north of west. You can see almost all the way back to Portland. This is comprised of 8 shots made with the camera in "portrait" orientation. PhotoShop worked long and hard to stitch them together for me, and the full-sized PSD is 170 MB. I hope is hasn't lost too much in compression. I've actually done very little to this one. The dramatic sky is caused by a polarizing filter. There's a tiny bit of lightening of the dark areas, and a final sharpening, but otherwise this is just as it looked. Thanks for stopping by and any comments.

Wow, this is just beyond fantastic. It makes me feel like I'm right there. I prefer the view from my couch rather than having to hike up that steep trail. I'm glad you recovered enough to put this together for us. Thanks!

I knew there would be a fantasic view to be had from there. And you can see some of the wild flowers around. I love hiking in Oregon and Washington because of views like this. Thanks for sharing Dennis.

Wow - that's just spectacular! Full view was a treat. All the stitching your program did was worth the trouble! :) Gorgeous view. Thanks for hiking up there to take these shots!

So beautiful. I feel like I'm there. I'm going to have to find a dictionary. I'm running out of words. I can't say everything's beautiful. You wouldn't even believe me. ;~)))

Not only is this a superb looking landscape but I've been looking for an example of a good panorama with some useful notes. This is it. I've got the camera to shoot a panorama, the right memory card to record it and Photoshop to stitch it together...now, I need to find the right view and go give it a try. It doesn't look to me like you lost much in compression but then I haven't seen the original. Many thanks. Bill
