Description

Gorillas is today's animal with it's warm motherly love. Eventho it's a big animal, it has alot of love to give as a family. Gorillas, the largest of the living primates, are ground-dwelling herbivores that inhabit the forests of Africa. Gorillas are divided into two species and (still under debate as of 2008) either four or five subspecies. The DNA of gorillas is 97%â??98% identical to that of a human and they are the next closest living relatives to humans after the two chimpanzee species. Gestation is 8½ months. There are typically 3 to 4 years between births. Infants stay with their mothers for 3â??4 years. Females mature at 10â??12 years (earlier in captivity); males at 11â??13 years. Lifespan is between 30â??50 years. The Dallas Zoo's Jenny is still alive at age 55. Recently, gorillas have been observed engaging in face-to-face sex, a trait that was once considered unique to humans and the Bonobo. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorilla Thank you for stopping by. Very nice composition, Antoinette! I think that it's better to import the Gorillas texture map too since everything else was textured.

Lovely image and interesting info you have given us, but you have forgotten to say that they estimate, if things keep going as they are, there won't be any Gorillas left in 25 years. You'll be lucky to see one in a zoo. The killing for meat and other uses of their body parts, for primitive medicines in asian countries, that really don't work...okay I'll be quiet, but with hope mankind will finally get smart and realize killing these magnificent animals is folly. Very sad.
