Description

The English landscape has two delightful and unique features, totally foreign to this visitor from across the pond - hedgerows and public footpaths. The hedgerows create beautiful landscapes, provide barriers for stock, habitat for wildlife, and aid in prevention of soil erosion. Strips of land are dedicated by landowners for use as a public footpath or Public Right of Way, have been in existence for hundreds of years, and offered a most charming opportunity to explore the countryside. I am delighted you had fun in my country, and yes there are many rights of way for walkers to travel through farmland and explore - I am surrounded by landscape just like this and on my better days I love to walk my dogs and enjoy 'Englands green and pleasant land'. WE don't have any problem in my part of the country regarding rights of way, everyone respects each other as far as that is concerned.
