Description

I was curious about how far I could push Poser in my never ending quest for realism. Not sure that I'm there yet but here is the latest effort. I titled it "Albany Night" because I used the HDRFX point light of that name in P7. This is the V3 Mandy character showing off on the streets of Albany. Rendered in Poser 7. Thanks for looking and commenting. ************************************* A couple of people expressed interest in the tutorials. Anyway here are a couple of links ... I thought these tutorials were pretty awesome IMHO. At least they provide some clues to using the capabilties of the program -- and it really has some. BTW the Python scripts and HDR Shop are free. For lighting: http://www.physicalc-software.com/tutorials/ibl/ and this one is great for fixing eye problems: http://graphics.smithmicro.com/article/articleview/295/1/323/

No doubt that, today, the photo of a real person and a Poser closeup portrait are not 100% identical, I guess that the eyes are making the (very slight) difference. But we are very near anyway. I guess that in few years nobody could distinguish the two, but what is NOT shown here is clearly the most difficult point to solve: clothes' folds! I noticed possible problems on the top of the forehead with hair seeming to disappear inside the head, but this may be an illusion and in fact be some reflexions on the hair. Really excellent work.

.... she looks coyly... asks... "so, are you a real artist?" "real enough.... I work on computers... trying to make pixels look alive...." "can I see what you're doing... how I look..." "uh, sure".. turns the tablet towards her.... she has a small but very sweet smile on her lips.... "that is me!... oh wow..." real enough.... very nicely done!
