Description
This is one for Andrea ( burleybeachbum ). It is quite a common occurance at my local nature reserve on the oaks, more than oak apples.
They are like limpets clinging to the acorns.

How strange. I had plenty of oaks where I lived in Cleveland growing up but I never saw this sort of thing. How interesting as well. Great shot - clear and focused.
