Description

I was going to upload a photo from last nights Graduation ceremony, but haven't really 'prepped' them yet. It was a nice ceremony ... lousy seating .. but I got through it, somehow. lol Almost at the school, I realized a) I forgot the tickets and b) my son. Not the graduate, but I forgot Ben. I couldn't believe it. We got there early so hubby went back to gather up the tickets and Ben lol and came back. Meanwhile, I took pictures of my son & his friends. I found a seat in the auditorium when shortly afterwards, realized I didn't have my wallet. I couldn't believe how scatter brained I was. I did find it at the doorway of the place, I had set it on the table when I was changing lenses on my camera. Jeez ... Then, when the ceremony began, they started off with a speaker, one of the students got up there and I don't even remember what she said. lol Then they started a video tape -- of the Class of 2008 kids, back when they were just in KINDERGARDEN. I said "oh my god, I'm gonna cry.." The lady behind me handed me some kleenex; I didn't know her at all. What a sweet lady; even though her kleenex smelled of the worst stale cigarette smoke I had ever smelled in my life; and I used to smoke myself! .... lol, anyway, I opted to let my tears dry on my cheeks :) Now I ramble... Sorry. Here's another shot of the train, only it is much closer. Some of you sounded concered I might be risking my life for these train shots. No, I have a lot to live for yet, so I'm very careful .. I was just stuck at a RR-Xng at the time. I rolled my window down and snapped the pictures. :) Thanks for stopping by .. If you've read this far .. shucks .. thank you. :) Shari

Very nice mood in this photo, with lively and contrasting colours against a fabulous sky. (I also take photos from my car, with the window rolled down!)

Don't know whether to laugh or cry along with you, Sharilyn. Reading your narrative reminded me so much of myself and my absentmindedness (is there such a word?). LOL vis-a-vis that Kleenex. Like sticking your face into an ashtray. Splendid capture of the red diesel locomotive contrasted against the landscape and leaden skies. The Atcheson, Topeka, and the Santa Fe?

I don't know about you risking too much. Looks like a nice safe distance to me. I always love the trains, this one is a great shot. I love the clouds in the background along with the country setting.

Sounds like you came through the emotion of the graduation process eventfully! The pictures is great. Your American trains are so ... solid - ours look like toy trains in comparison. Great shot again, Shari. Hugs, Mike
