Description
Can we also say, chrome fetish?
Captured 10/28/07 at the Wings, Wheels, Rotors and Expo show held annually at the beautiful Joint Forces Training Base on the beautiful Los Alamitos Army Airfield in beautiful Los Alamitos, California.
Someone invested lots of hours, labor, love, equipment, and money on this beauty, a Chevy turned hotrod, circa I suspect the 1930s or 40s.
There's a dial or gauge for everything conceivable: fuel, oil, mileage, speed, battery voltage, altitude, temperature, compression, revs, radio, tire pressure, air resistance, weapons status, you name it.
And, how can the driver even see through that huge engine and auxiliary stuff? It would either block your vision, blind you with bright reflections, or both.
I await the comments of tallpindo, jocko500 and frankie96 on this one.
Zoom in for a much better view.
Have a super-duper Saturday!

That's where the driving goggles come in... LOL. Nice collage Harry. Must have been very cool in person.

lot of dails and whistles for everything you name and more. Even on the motor itself I see dails lol. guess he have to stop; get out the car and look at them. As for driveing it; guess he was just thinking quater mile run and he wins the blue ribbon first place. Very good shots these are but for the man that knows it be a hotrod person which many are here but do not post many and to name some you did already tallpindo and frankie96

Harry..There is no such thing as too much chrome..:)..this is a very nicely done..and expensive piece of machinery...glad you enjoyed the show...great shots..

It looks to me like a 1926 or 27 Model T body and radiator shell was used. This would be typical with the suicide frontend and general Fad T look. The 454 Chevy has air cleaner paper elements under the fake injector so I assume he wants to drive on the street. This is a man with a need to know. After that the psyche out is automatic.

Facsinating trio shots. I am a girl so I like shiny object and a red dice is cool hanging in there too. You got me think thou on a gauge called "weapon status" I know the 007 cars has some but I realy like the idea this model has it too...lol. Good fun shot Harry and have a wonderful rest of the weekend.

Wow. And what dials and gagues didn't come with the original car, this guy added later! That's totally amazing. Your photographs really show it off! Excellent collage, my friend. It's nice to see different views of this well-measured machine!

Great collage Harry! Those 'bells and whistles' will confuse me, but I agree with you - a lot of effort went into restoring this beauty! :)
