Description
Shuttle Discovery sitting on pad 39A preparing for launch. This is another one of my projects that is yet to be finished. A lot of hours have gone into this one.

I can see a lot of work. In 1978 when my sons and I approached this pad the crawler had a track off and Bucyrus-Erie the builder was out of business. The only shuttle at the VAB was the mockup in scale on DC-9 landing gear. Rumors of impending cancellation were rampant. How much better in summer of 1981 to look North from Palm Beach and see it ascending on it's first flight. Yesterday I thought of Thor DELTA and how H-1 was descended from it as the CSB made from Titan was to takeover all satellite commercial launches. KIBO has a different destiny.
