Description

This is one of the kittens from my August 11 image "Baby Love" http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1654353 Yesterday two women came to view the kittens but didn't want them because they were not shorthair:-( So the 5 kitties will likely go to the pound. These were born inside by accident, usually this mama has them outside under the house but they are just as wild now as if they had been born outside. Sorry to be on my 'soap box' again but I just have to speak out when humans act so irresponsibly. Below is information on feral cats. A feral cat is the "wild" offspring of a domesticated cat. Feral cats live in warehouses, allies, around apartment complexes, fields, campuses, and parks. Feral cats start congregating in one place and form a "colony". Once breeding begins, the colony size greatly increases, and the kittens born become more "wild" and afraid of humans with each litter. Feral cats are largely the result of animal abandonment and owner's failure to spay and neuter their animals. Since feral cats are nocturnal and distrustful of humans, most people are unaware of feral cats' existence even though they may be living in their own backyard and around their communities. There are an estimated 60 million to 120 million feral cats within the U.S. alone. After age 6 months, cats can produce 3 litters of kittens per year (the gestation period is about 65 days). These litters have about two to four kittens in them on average. Unfortunately, only a small amount of feral kittens survive.Every winter, feral cats' ears run the chance of breaking off. What a sweet kitty, Lynn. I would take her/him in a heartbeat if I was closer. She looks just my cat, who was a garage kitty when I got her and is the sweetest thing, but very shy.

My neighbor catches them and take them to have them spayed and neutered and then returns them back out.But puts food for them. One of ours was one we caught and kept she was a great cat after she calmed down.Only took a few days before she started to trust us

Very nice shot and very sad info indeed. I'm not the kind of person who can have an animal at home (I'm busy at work !) and I won't have an animal for this reason. I think this is a much more risponsible behavior than having one and abandoning him right after ... I hope yu will find someone for this cat !

I would take it. I adopted a feral barn kitten a year ago - she just had her birthday - from the barn where I board my horse. My daughter adopted three. They are perfect house cats now. I already had three older cats and Dolly the kitten rules the home! LOL! Also have two house rabbits and a horse. All rejects by someone. Unwanted animals are heartbreaking. People have no compassion or common sense.

Keep up the good cause! If you truly love your pets, have them spayed/neutered!
