Description

From the memoirs of early interstellar explorer Dr. Albert Xi: There's no denying that the first survey of another world will always be my fondest. What stands out the most clearly is the first time I ventured off the main ship in a smaller shuttle. I turned and looked back at the ship that had already been my home for many months, and would remain home for at least another year, and I swear the stars themselves seemed to fill the view with a kind of magic I've only felt during the first moments of seeing a new system to explore. The wonder of it is what kept me doing it, instead of taking an office job at a university (believe me, it would have paid better) It's easy to say that I'm over-romanticizing the job, and I am; but that magic is what makes us human, and why we will always reach for something new. ---------- Thanks for taking a look, I've got a rather brief break between other projects (I'm making yet another costume for renfaire season, pictures will be posted when it's complete) and work is getting busy again. I will try to keep up with all of your amazing works, but I may have another long absence ahead of me. The ship was modeled and built in Bryce, the planet and starscape in Photoshop. Enjoy
