Description

From the memoirs of early interstellar explorer Dr. Albert Xi: A frequent joy of doing survey-work on the edges of explored space is the amount of time you spend in a small craft, looking outwards towards places that once only telescopes could show you, and now you can actually begin to imagine going there, one day. While the great nebulas and stellar nurseries are still far off and out of reach of our current baby-steps into interstellar space, the hope we all feel when we look outwards has made life seem almost magical with promise. --------------- Still imagining the mind-set of someone who leaves Earth to visit the stars, and dabbling with a ship-model I'd done some time ago. The ship was created in Bryce, with materials I either created or heavily altered. The background is Photoshop, once again. Thanks for taking a look.

Nice ship modelling, the background is SUPERB! I'm doing astrosketching, you know drawing deepsky objects I observe with my telescope, and I really wish I could use such cool techniques like yours!

Love that model! I can't come up with anything convincing in Bryce.

The large view is highly recommended as it shows the super detail and colors of the ship and nebula...if I owned this image I would rotate it right and hang it on the wall in the portrait aspect...excellent image!

Excellent composition again, your spaceship is a great achievement and the lighting on it adds to the realism of the scene. Beautiful!

I really like this ship, the narrative that accompanies the image, and the whole image itself. It's superb work. You really have this interstellar thing down to a tee and it's fantastic. You've got a wonderful universe in here, as rich and fascinating as anything I've encountered. The ship design is amazing. There's something about it that just fits right into my mind, right into my own visions of interstellar humanity, and as always, I look forward to seeing more. Oh, and I do have to say that there is a quiet sense of loneliness that works well here...the way the starlight hits the ship, the way the background stars and nebulae seem to go on forever. Great work!
