Description

Taken today Tuesday June3 2008 Hollingworth Lake Rochdal UK. Had rained all morning and was very dull and overcast, this Heron was all alone this side of the lake. The shot was taken from the "Bird Hide".

I thought at first it was the fish stealer I uploaded last week Alan, but this one only has one leg by the look of it. Roflmao. Excellent capture mate, I used to fish for pike at the very same spot before they built the hide that is. That area of the Lake used to be known as 'The Salmon Fields', I don't know why, cause there has never been any Salmon in the lake. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

I think he's alone because the wife wouldn't stop nagging him to get out and bring home something to eat and the twins were screaming for their lunch and he'd just had enough. I think that is the shoulder slump of contentment you see...:-) Wonderful capture.

Great capture Alan, he does look lonely too, funny, you never see these in pairs. unless they are doing that funny courtship of theirs, that reminds me of Fred Astair and Ginger Rogers lol...They can be quite the ballroom champs :)
