Description

Can't wait! Alex sent me tomato plants and strawberry plants for my garden. One of my all time favorite summer yummies is fresh strawberries and I make strawberry shortcake but don't use the traditional recipe. I make my own scones (which are yummy by themselves) to use as the shortcake topped with the sweetened berries and cool whip, (for those who don't know cool whip is a fake whip cream with far less calories than real but tastes just as good.)Soon that little fat berry will be bright red and juicy and I will share that photo as well. (and maybe the shortcake too if enough berries this year) Thanks for looking and for previous comments.

Well heres hoping for a bumper crop, so you can make plenty of strawberry shortcake. I used to have a strawberry barrel out back, a great way to grow strawberries if you are short on room, I got the barrel for free from a job I was doing. My daughter was pretty young at the time and used to eat strawbs as though they were going out of fashion. I revamped the garden a few years back and got rid of the barrel as it had become brittle with the suns uv rays. Superb capture of this succulent berry, it shouldn't be long now, looking at the plumpness of it. Bravo!!!!!
