Description

This image came out of some quick 3d concepts made in Vue Infinite..The ecosystem makes working with big cityscapes very quick & easy buildings & ships modeled in 3dsmax,rendered in Vue6 with heavy post in Photoshop...according to Vue the polycount is in the billions :o thanks for viewing! Oh yeah - I have been running Vue 6 Infinite for roughly a year now...what they mean by poly counts in the billions is through "instances" which is changeable and viewable within the material handler and functions. How an "instance" works is that far from the camera the poly's will be displayed (for instance trees) as four poly's/image planes...even farther this will appear as a single "billboard" (made to always face the camera regardless of position) which is a simple image plane with an alpha image on it. You can never get "close" to see this normally because the viewing resolution will change as the camera moves ;-) This way Vue can "handle" images with billions upon billions of poly's - now if these were "actual" poly's the system would more than likely crash - you can see this by importing a single object with 300,000 or more poly's and watch it slow down a LOT LOL. The ecosystem instances work very very well though in Vue due to the constant change of the "resolution" no matter what the camera movement...this way complex scenes can be developed without multiple layered rendering and compositing ;-) I have personally rendered scenes with "poly's" way up in the billions lol - love it! Awesome scene as usual my friend - :D 5+++

Fantastic scene. The huge ship reminds me a little of the one in "Independence Day". Professional work.

Incredible! This dramatic scifi view is absolutely beyond words and compliments. Remember me the best moments of Kubrick "2001" film or "Close encounter..." from Spielberg. Great!
