Description

On a recent business trip I awoke at 4AM to some rumbling outside. After a few minutes I decided to investigate and saw the resulting light show. Quite literally the very moment I was setting up my tripod I missed an enormous burst that went through three cloud layers. All pictures were shot on a tripod at I believe ISO 400, letting the camera choose it's own shutter settings of 1-2 seconds in program mode. Regrettably part of my room's door/balcony is in the shot. If I was a true Artiste I would have made for the hotel's patio and shot from the ground with the wide angle lens, as it is I'm a dedicate Amateur who avoided a shocking end to my trip. (Addition: the picture was shot at Tan-Tar-A resort in Osage Beach, Missouri).
