Description

This peachy-orangy-apricot color is my favorite when it comes to flowers. This rhododendron lives across the street from me, and I've been enjoying it every time I go in and out of the driveway. I wasn't being very sneaky when I took this shot. For one thing, I don't think they were home. For another, I don't think they can see me from the house even if they ARE home! This year I wasn't going to post pictures of rhododendrons, because last year I made you look at about a million different specimens. (Or maybe it was only fifteen. I can't remember. It SEEMED like a million!) However, I never did get one that was quite this color, so here it is! My token rhody for the year.

Are you or are you not a woman? if you think the answer to this question is 'Yes' then it is a woman's prerogative to change her mind. So it is quite acceptable for you to post this token rhody. Lol. Excellent capture Tara, and colour like this you could not, not post it. Even I think it is a gorgeous colour, not too fond of the Rhododendrons myself due to the sticky resin like stuff they exude. I used to play in the dense bushes as a child, my first kiss was in the thick bushes, but now I can't do with them. This however isn't bad, viewing them on the screen is OK. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

I never saw any orange rhododendrons as I was in Nepal, only rhododendron trees of the usual colour. Excellent and impressive macro! Superb and energetic!

Oh wow, this color is just beautiful! I've never seen a rhody this color but I would sure like to. And I love rhody's so feel free to post another one. You won't bore me with shots of them, especially if they are as good as this one, and I'm sure they would be.

To say that this is peachy keen would be a gross understatement, my dear. Love everything about this macro, i.e., clarity, colors, textures, composition, petals, stamens, ad infinitum. Actually, at first glance I thought it was a hibiscus, but then I saw the stamens. Not as dynamic as Seattle sliding off the end of the earth, but lovely otherwise.
