A beautiful mix of grasses, out in the open sunlight, tangled around each other, and very inviting to hungry horses! Wonderful job on this, Dirk, and that lighting is nothing short of amazing!

I'm glad I added you to my Favorite Artist list yesterday because otherwise I might have missed this. It reminds me of a beautiful basket being woven with reeds and grasses. Very beautiful!

A beautiful woven basket. That's what came to my mind too. Perfect for collecting and carrying something that needs a lot of air to stay fresh like for instance mushrooms. Wonderful art from a wonderful person!

I see a superbly organic basket in the makings. Grasses and grapevines. Wonderful. As for the Haiku...not so modest a legacy Dirk. Alot more than most.

Dirk, there aren't adequate words to express what I feel. I can't write this without crying. You have made a difference, a better difference, in my life and I know you have in other's lives as well. You will leave a visual legacy here at Renderosity, but you will leave a gentle legacy in each of our hearts who have had the privilege of knowing you. Lea

Honesty with you has always entirely ruled the way (not simply ruled the day..as in the old saying)..so I'm going to say it. I don't much like this. Oh, it's a beautifully created image, and of particular value because it IS so totally, powerfully compelling. And, after all, some of the most extraordinary art in existence is disturbing as hell..but great..yes..precisely because of all it provokes. We know that. So yes, it's artistically awesome, to say the very least. But, it turns me inside out. (And no, that impact is not born of your words alone. You know full well that I always welcome those in a very grounded sense of realism, both open-armed, and equally open-hearted. Those alone, while deeply painful at times, do not nearly tear me apart as this.) I don't SEE a lovely basket. And damn, but how I WANT that perception. I've sat here looking at this for a really long time, hoping to ferret that out. It's what I'd choose to see! Instead, the visual trip into this vortex possesses a strange sense of reduction if you will (why the image/words coalition, no doubt..so there, a splendid representation). But, there are torn things here, whipping about, and a chaotic wake. Even the light, the length of its hues, I find somehow unnerving. And, I can't seem to move beyond that perception. So, while a great creation, my precious friend...I softly, and completely respectfully...shun it. But, I do so, I know (you know, too) only for the extraordinary depth of feeling it delivers. Please... I hope you'll understand. Well, that'll teach you to check the both critical and non-critical comments are welcomed box, eh? Now, here's a giant hug...and even an extra one, as a peace offering for this mouthy opinion...(((Dirk)))

I'm out of town, Dirk..on my sister's dial-up, but I had to write to tell you your legacy is hardly minor..and it can't be contained merely in your exceptional artwork. You leave yourself in our hearts- the inspiration, kindness, gentle spirit and beautiful soul. I will always remember, and- whenever your time comes, remember you have made a difference in my life. In so many lives. ((((((Dirk)))))

This is a most unique creation. I see within it a struggle between light and dark. I wish to think that the light is winning. This is a splendid art piece and expresses so much. The complexity of the piece is astonishing and so well done.

This reminds me of dreams where I'm going somewhere and it gets more and more difficult until my way is completely blocked.

Exquisitely woven grasses and reeds, somehow the darkness from outside of the weaving seems to want to grasp and pull at the light inside. Strangely disturbing beauty.

I'm very much a left-brained engineer, so symbolism typically goes right over my head. What I see here is the beginnings of a beautiful basket made with natural fibers. Given what I know about XenoDream, I see the work of one of a half-dozen or fewer of its master artists.

I found the link to your gallery in the help file for XD I've just downloaded to have a look. Looks complicated even without your works. Having now an idea how this was made, I think I'll stick to Fractal Explorer ;-)))
