the night is raining
quietly
further away
Â
I'm standing
in front of my window
naked
nothing to hide
Â
I feel some raindrops
burning my eyes
my cheeks
my chin
Â
somewhere
there's a light
people are surviving
Â
somewhere
far away
Â
maybe
Â
it's you

A beautiful photo Dirk Just something for you to think about. I think it takes more faith to believe in nothing, than to believe in something. ;) Lea

Your pros, regardless of the words, paint a picture of peace and resolution. Thank you so much for sharing them with all of us.

Death is the great equalizer I have heard it said. The one thing I will always remember about the death of my Father is that the phrase, "You can't take it with you" became a reality. All that he was, all that he had ever been, had succenly become a part of us, and he didn't take one thing with him. Everything he ever worked for ended up belonging to someone else. It reminded me of the song from Pocohantas, "The rainstorm and the river are my brothers The heron and the otter are my friends And we are all connected to each other In a circle, in a hoop that never ends Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest Come taste the sunsweet berries of the Earth Come roll in all the riches all around you And for once, never wonder what they're worth" We never own anything. We rent it for the time we spend here. We are all here for such a short time, some shorter than others. It isn't what we obtain or who we become that we leave behind. It's who we touched. You have always had the ability to touch me. For that I will always love who you are.

Funny isn't it? We all have an "idea", depending on one's faith, or belief system. Energy, what we are made of, our electrical pulse...takes us in what ever direction we guide it.. I have been more than lucky to have had this opportunity these last few years, to meet your graphically phenomenally artistic side Your work was my catalyst into purchasing XD so many years ago it seems. Watching you explore your humor [for me] in indicate mazes of curiosity, I had to play with that. I have played ever since, I am an addict, observer, student and proud beta tester for this amazing tool. My heart to you and my joy [=

i do not know death, and the more i live, the more i realize i know even less about life. it's enough to live it, and live it without apology. love and warmth to you and all those you love.

I don't know what to say other than relate my own experiences with death, I witnessed in my lifetime a lot of it, and I've came close myself. Close enough, that I gave up the fight and said aloud, "Okay, fine, I'm tired, let's go". Only to have the reaper slam deaths door in my face, in a metaphorical way of replying. "No." Where as the thoughts that follow, went something like. "Fine, make up your mind." Thanks for sharing Dirk.

Yup - life is just a collection of minutes. Some minutes are more fun than others, but in the end, that's all we have - a whole bunch of minutes. Right now I'm doing laundry and playing on Renderosity. Later today I might talk to a friend, write a poem, fall in love, learn something new, drum my fingers on the table wondering what to do next, take a nap. Who knows? So many people say they would do different things with their time if they knew they were going to die next week, but I wonder ... Once you're gone, you won't care how you spent your time. Huh. There you go, making me think again.

We have no influence on how long our lifespan may be. No matter how we feel, let's not look at others who seem to have a better/longer life. Let's look at those who have a much worse life. And then let's enjoy what we have and be content.

A wonderous picture .. is it dusk or dawn? Depends on which stage of our lives we are in, I suppose. The only way to live is minute by minute. One can only be in this moment, the last one is gone forever, the next one is still a question unanswered. Memories are what we have of the minutes past, daydreams are what we have for the minutes to come. Stay in the moment. Keep writing and creating these beautiful things, moment by moment.

It doesn't matter which way the sun is going; it's still beautiful. Thank you for sharing some beauty and a few of your minutes with us, my friend.

We face resignation in all the events in our lives, and I hope that with resignation, comes acceptance and peace. I hope you have peace in your heart and I know you are cherishing every moment with your family. I have thought of you often and send caring thoughts across the pond to you. Peace, my friend.
