Description

Last month on my way home from Yosemite, I stopped to see my sister in Livermore, California, southeast of San Franscisco. One day we were sitting out on her patio and I saw her really lovely furniture, without any pads or cushions. I asked why and she said she'd bought it all at a garage sale for practically nothing, because no pads came with it. Me and my big mouth, I tell her "Oh, those would be SO easy to make". Yeah, right. But I did it, and they turned out really well. You can see what my kitchen/sewing room looked like during the process!!

lol... Oh Marilyn, I know this feeling all too well - getting involved in a sewing project and then hating yourself halfway through.... Glad you finished it and I bet it looks stunning. Have a great Sunday. :)

LOL!!! Thanks for sharing, I have tons of sewing stuff, I keep telling myself, "I am going to do more of that one day." So, I keep it, and wonder, "Will I ever sew again?"

I think we have all been there Marilyn, I have regreted getting involved in some major things by opening my big mouth, its a long drawn out learning curve sometimes! excellent picture and theme of conversation!

Nice scene! I like to see people busy ... Makes me think of all those "self-assembly" kits I've tried - you know the ones - they just lie on the floor and make no attempt to assemble themselves...

Cool project, and I'm sure the feeling of accomplishment at the end outweighted that "what was I thinking?" thought half way through. We will see a photo of them on the chairs, yes? : )

Looks like something I would leave for @ two months after completing the project. I know how mickuk feels My ex husband used to do a nutty if I tried to do carbeurator repairs on the kitchen table. Shortly after our divorce someone built an engine in his kitchen. I think it was Not Me and I Don't Know, then they left town.

Well done you!! My Husqavarna sewing machine has done more miles than all my cars put together, but then it was much more expensive than most of my vehicles have been! I am mid project at present, I will reveal all in the end, if I live to finish it!!!

You have made some fantastic looking cushions and well worth the temporary clutter to do so.

They say a picture is worth 1000 words, and it must be true! I had a totally different image in my mind of what these cushions looked like. (I was picturing thick and boxy - you know the kind I mean?) You desribed the fabric very well, though! This is a great shot! Glad it was your project and not mine. :) I love the part best where I turn the iron off, the clothes are done and hanging in the closet, the scraps have been thrown away, and I flip off the sewing machine light.

Hey, that's not so bad. All I see is complete chaos! Actually, most reminiscent of my computer area on even its neatest days. But, remember, idle hands are the devil's workshop!!! In any case, I really like the soft lighting effects and soothing orangy ambiance, Marilyn.
