Description

View from the ferry between Kyle of Lochalsh, Scotish Mainland, and Kyleakin, Isle of Skye. The view is toward the east showing 3,383-ft. high Ben Attow in the distance shrouded in rain showers. To the left is Kyle of Lochalsh and on the right are the ruins of Castle Moil, near the harbor of Kyleakin, Isle of Skye. The ruins of the present building of Castle Moil date back to the 15th century, but it is traditionally reputed to be of much ealier origin. The Sky Bridge has replaced the ferry and is now linking the Scotish Mainland with the Isle of Skye at this point. I had left Inverness very early that day on the train and it was a very pleasant ride through the Scotish Highlands watching the various Lochs and watching the sun rising over this desolate but beautiful area.
