for over ten years (where has the time gone?) ive been playing in 3d programs poser, lightwave etc... then about 3 years ago I got back into photograpy
and its been nonstop, ive shot weddings, Christenings, models even pets..
plus i also like mixing 3d and 2d and coming up with original pieces of work :)

If this is the discovery of the glass scull, you may want to add some refractions to the glass scull. Try to use bigger crumple settings and then much smaller crumple values and settings for the paper in a second layer. Furthermore, I'd use an AreaLight for smoother shadows and brighten the scene.

It's a good concept but i think it's made too much in hurry; just little improvement (as SMS told you) will made this a better image. Try giving at the light that illuminate the scull a caustic effect, try with DOF effect and last but not least with a better wood texture using better specular, diffusion and bump parameters for the table.
