Description

I've gotten so much use out of OmirOnia's fantastic "The End." stock photo that I decided to put a bunch of my uses in sequence like a really confusing comic strip (to complete the "story", there's also one tacked on where the subject is absent). That's not to say I won't be using the photo again but seriously, I've started repeating myself already. The last one I used it for was a re-make of the first thing I used it for for christ's sake. Anyway thanks OmirOnia, you're cool. Original Photomerges: this is not happening red giant: the journey fade this is not happening again The stock photo credits for those images are all there. I'll post the credits to the tacked-on image when I upload the full-sized version of it tomorrow (yeah I'll put a link to it here, too). Thanks for stopping by. EDIT: Man I forget easily. Here's the link: "nobody knows" EDIT 2: sorry, i shouldn't be assuming people's gender identities.

I've seen all your originals, and I like the combination. In the originals, you do such sweeping things with sustained color & form, you make deep contact with your viewer almost immediately. But what's interesting about the montage is that it the originals—which aren't seen in their original sweeping size—are now part of progression: through tones, from the deep coffee-rust of your left image to the clear beige & whites of your right; and through the piers and dark horizons of the left to the bleached sand & sky of the right. They make an interesting piece of music. Does "I don't know what this means" come from one of the images or original stock photos? Because I must tell you, your manipulations are powerful enough that you don't need to qualify or explain them, though maybe you're just giving a personal comment, which in a way is kind of cool...But you have enough power in your works that they speak for themselves. To me, they mean a lot. (You know what? I'm a fan. I've seen your work maybe one week, and I'm an unabashed fan.) I'll return to the originals now. Montages like this are natural for manipulation artists: I get the feeling you could play with images forever and keep finding expression in them...
