Description
This shot forced me to learn something ;-) After a bit of research, it seems that the lichen is an Usnea -- just don't ask me for the species instead of the genus at this point! lol
Commonly called Treemoss or Old Man's Beard or Beard Lichen, Usnea has been used as an herbal healing remedy for thousands of years and is even vouched for by modern medical science. However, to me it is simply a beautiful shroud on trees in the Pacific Northwest.

Wow! The way in which you've captured the lichen is superb, and gives it such a delicacy and beauty. Seems to cascade downwards, ever so softy! Thats totally awesome! Great artwork!

It is a problem in many areas. It overtakes everything but on the other side, it is a natural antibiotic and if you pack a wound or place it on one, it will stave off infection during the healing. This is a very magical shot.
