Description

While exploring the ancient stones at Avebury, Wiltshire, England, a herd of sheep crossed over the earthen henge and this young lamb walked right up to me while I snapped away, sniffed my camera lens and then nuzzled my hand! It was the first time I had ever touched a lamb. The stonge henge at Avebury is the largest prehistoric stone ring in the world, four times larger than Stonehenge, older as well, and surrounds the entire village of Avebury with large earthen henges and ditches. This has to be one of the cutest shots ever, and a heart warming story to match. It looks like he is going to step right out of my monitor and let me pet him too. I'm so glad you got to pet him so you could see how soft and wonderful they are. That was a real bonus for your day.

I've never touched a lamb, they always run away....he looks right friendly, maybe he was hand-raised. Nice work.

How sweet! We will have to change the words of the nursery rhyme to "Maria had a little lamb. Its fleece was white as snow. And everywhere that Maria went, the lamb was sure to go".
