Description
[Left hand image] "Travellers always thought of the people of the small town of Estwald as being lazy with their late starts in the mornings and their early retirements in the evenings. But the townsfolk knew that in the dim light around dawn and when the sun had gone behind the mountains in the afternoon, other things came out... things that ate far more travellers than they did townsfolk."
[Right hand image] The barman watched as the two adventurers struggled to pick up the third of their number from the floor. Tomorrow, those three would stagger out into the wilderness in search of their fortunes... like so many had before them.
"Should you plan to join the many others of your ilk who venture forth into the ruins of the Great Kingdom, one final word of warning. "
"Within those ruins do indeed lie great treasures, but those same ruins are the home of some strange and dangerous creatures. Some of these creatures are born of the natural order, some the creations of desperate wizards trying to reinforce their warlord's might from times best forgotten, while others are the corruption of life caused by the disrupted magical weave which stains the lands of the Night Wars."
"Regardless of where they're from, they are there, and they are waiting..."
A couple of small promo images for some of Valandars critters that luckily also fit into my (glacially progressing) world building project. Not quite my usual image style (and wasn't even sure whether to put them in the gallery or not), but they were fun to produce nonetheless. Thanks for looking and for any thoughts you may leave.

Excellent. I particularly like the textures/material of the foreground rocks/stone in both images.

wow. you posed the manticore beautifully. and the chimera doesn't look awkward, despite being an impossibly eclectic mix. kudos to you for the great images, and kudos to Valandar for such interesting creations.
