Description

Poem by Alex (I love this one!) under the boardwalks a blue strider so stiffly strident in his climb, blue bonnets bob and weave above him, brave blustering breeze from time to time, these two so true too in their color set 'gainst a sea of light green leaves, captured briefly in camera's lens, neither the other's hue perceives A couple days ago I went out to snip the dead flowers and as I lifted the blue pansy this guy came out from under it and startled me...check out that stinger! and then check out those legs!!! Those have to be the longest legs I have seen on an insect, including on daddy long legs spiders. Don't know what it is, does not have the same appearance as the crane fly but (Andrea???) I thought his colors were awesome and I left him and the pansy be because they looked so good together. Cropped and brightened a bit for better viewing. I have to say that I am always amazed at the beauty of Alex's words, I challenge him constantly with my images and he has never failed me, to come up with the perfect words! Wado ! my Alex, I found this one especially beautiful! Thanks for looking and for previous comments!

My goodness, Lynn, what a vibrant blue that guy is and such long, long legs. I've never seen one quite like that. Almost like he was dyed to match the pansy. Alex has quite a talent for writing. He should have a gallery! Beautiful words and capture, my friend.

Amazing - still looks like a crane fly, but I've never seen blue one. Great words!

I agree with e-brink it must be some sort of crane fly,but I expect the 'stinger' is an ovipositor! Well, lets hope so, anyhow! Great poem!!!
