Description

My one son and I went to Kruger a couple of years back and were watching this elephant grazing very close to the road. Suddenly, without warning, he turned and stormed towards us. My son, who was driving at the time, sped off while I was hanging out the window trying to get as many shots as I could of this 'moment of panic'! We saw him later [in a better mood] and he was actually dragging his right back leg. It looked like an old injury that never healed properly. So he was instantly forgiven for being a bit grumpy!! Thank you for visiting my gallery and for any comments you wish to leave! Hugs, Carin xx

along with the title this makes for a very evocative photo.. the slight blurriness and sense of movement gives me a good sense of what you must have been feeling at the time (or is that your son as you do the nutty photographer bit? ;)) i'm no expert at elephant body language but he looks like he's fed up rather than angry - i would be too if i had a would which wouldn't heal! nice shot =)

Great capture of the motion in his ears but still retaining the textures of his trunk. I don't think I would want him after me lol.

That's such a cool shot. Very glad you weren't hurt! My brother used to work in Tanzania as a wildlife biologist, and he says that the posture of the elephant is a "classic threat-display". Fantastic capture!
