Description
This 1939 Rolls Royce Wraith was used By Field Marshal Montgomery as his staff car for the 1944-1945 North West Europe Campaign. It was the first civilian vehicle to land in Normandy after the Allied invasion just 3 days after D-Day on 9 June 1944, when it was brought ashore at Juno Beach

Why couldn't he have used a jeep like everybody else did, you didn't see the yanks riding round in Studebakers. I wonder what would have happened if he had hit a landmine in it, would he just ring up the quartermaster and order a replacement. 'I say old chap my rolls has just done a flyer on a land mine, could you get a replacement out here asap. Cheers Monty.' I find it disgusting myself. You have got some cracking detail in the shot David, and that is what I'm supposed to be commenting on. A beautiful car, I like the reflected sky in the right wing, its certainly kept in tip top condition. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
