Description

This is Halemaumau volcano pit crater where much of the VOG comes from. It is also considered the home of Pele....the fire goddess. The building on the right is the Jaggar Museum and Hawaii Volcano Observatory. It monitors the earthquake activity. Aia O Pele i Halemaumau. There is Pele at Halemaumau. There are several faces from this VOG. If you look towards the right of the VOG, you can see a face looking back into the crater. Aloha and thank you for viewing Zoom in for a closer look

I see a woman's head and shoulders with her looking skyward away from the plume. Mixing cultures, but would the goddess of fire possibly be attracted to Mars, the god of war, and that would be the reason for a skyward view? ;)

Great to look at, but ominous to breathe, Shark. Terrific POV used and excellent mood effects of the billowing smoke and VOG in this shot!
