Description

The village of Boscastle, in a deep narrow valley on the northern coast of Cornwall, England, experienced a terrible flood in 2004. I remember seeing it on the news over here on this side of the pond. Though well on it's way to being rebuilt now, there are still signs of the flooding. One of the shops we went into still shows the high water mark on the wall, as high as my shoulder. This shows the natural harbor that leads from the village to the ocean. I remember the flood very well, although I am not from there I live up in the north of England and with respect to those of Boscastle I don't think I had heard of the place until the terrible flood shown on TV. Its strange how I am getting an urge to go see the floodline on the shop wall. great shot, lovely!

Wonderful POV you must have climbed up the hill to get this shot.. I was there at the time, and the floods were quite incredible the village is situated in the middle of a valley and the water just ran down from all sides..

I was on holiday myself in Tenerife when I heard the news of that dreadful flood. It's amazing the destructive force that Mother Nature has but at least they are now rebuilding their lives and village. A wonderful capture of this beautiful harbour. Hugs xx

I think this is the most natural and beautiful harbor I've ever seen with the sea grasses and roughed cliffs and with the narrow, winding waterway inland. Stunning capture!
