Description
This is my 3rd attempt at portraits. I got my lines laid out but the facial lines were too big...aka fat face. Oh and she is lop sided lol
I still need a lot of work, but I'm kinda proud. I will re-do her because I wanted to give her a portrait anyway.
My 2nd attempt was from a poser model and will be in a magazine next month. I had more liberty with her, a lot of caricature feel to her
It is just so strange asking people to let you take a picture of them. My first portrait I finally finished last weekend after the 4th try, was of a friend's baby photo
I love your comments, but please if you have any that are on the technical side please share them also. I want to get better, and I won't cry if you are honest :)
I used HB, B, and 2B graphite pencils

I think u are alright wit ur shading but u need to do a lil more work on ur proportion and facial anatomy. I luv ur pencil rendering. U can check out ma 2d art (Jydekris Dark)I like it. U r gonna be better if u keep doing it.

Wow! This is absolutely wonderful, a masterwork! I like the fact that this face is not entirely symmetrical. The BW palette is of outstanding quality.

Thank you all very much for your kind comments. I agonized over posting this, but remembered that I can only get better if I can see where I started from.

Pretty good for a third attempt. Check out a book called "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain". It's good for anyone at any drawing level. The best advice I can offer is to draw alot! As far as asking people to pose, just ask. Most people are flattered. The worst they can say is, "no". Keep drawing.
