Description

The image on the right is a bit grainy. These creatures like to hang out under the leaves, where the more diffuse and less intense light make for a more difficult shot. I included it because I thought you'd like to see the profile of his ultra cool hair style: A Double Spiked Mohawk. Not sure what the policy on insect sex is, but I figure if you see stuff like this on the Nature Channel in the daytime, it probably needs no adult warning here. Not sure what they are called, either, but they have the most extraordinary eyes in the right light, and great tiger-like translucent wings. Again, these may be too tiny for my lense and camera, but after about a million shots this was the best of the lot.

Nice capture. They are definitely flies and they look a lot like Marsh flies but not knowing where you live and the surroundings (such as wet or close to water)where you found them, it is hard to say for sure. Thanks for sharing. Lee
